The Faculty of Sharia at Salam University offers in-depth education in Islamic law, jurisprudence (Fiqh), and Islamic finance, seamlessly blending classical knowledge with contemporary applications. Department of Jurisprudence & Law
The Department of Jurisprudence & Law, a dynamic and productive division within the Faculty of Sharia and Law at Salam University, has been dedicated to academic excellence since its inception alongside the university in 2009. With a steadfast commitment to providing high-quality education, this department has seen 726 male and female students graduate between 2012 and 2018, with approximately 55% of these graduates securing roles in various governmental and private sectors. The department is supported by six permanent professors who contribute to its robust academic framework.
The department's curriculum, revised three times to ensure it meets the standards set by the Ministry of Higher Education, is categorized into four groups: basic, professional, optional, and university criteria. Students attend classes in three shifts, ensuring flexibility and accessibility.

Vision
The Department of Jurisprudence & Law within the framework of the Faculty of Sharia and Law is determined to be a model and pioneering institution of higher education at the national level in the fields of judiciary and attorney, teaching and research, and especially to be a standard and leading institution of higher education in educating academic and purposeful cadres in order to meet the judicial, educational and training needs of the country On the one hand, and adopts the moderate way in disputed matters on the other hand to direct the society in the right direction.
Mission
The Department of Jurisprudence & Law within the framework of the Faculty of Sharia and Law is currently engaged in educating specialized, purposeful and innovative cadres in the
Learning Outcomes for Students of the Department of Jurisprudence & Law
1. Mastery in Legal and Judicial Skills:
- Develop skills in issuing legal opinions (Iftaa), and gain judicial knowledge applicable to both governmental and non-governmental institutions.
- Acquire knowledge of rules related to litigation, defense, and the procedures for presenting cases.
2. Competence in Legal Advocacy:
- Demonstrate the ability to act as defense attorneys in civil and criminal cases.
- Resolve legal and judicial matters effectively within the community.
3. Analytical and Research Proficiency:
- Analyze contemporary jurisprudential cases and interpret various legal texts with scientific and professional methods.
- Conduct necessary scientific research in religious, jurisprudential, doctrinal matters, and other related fields.
4. Interpersonal and Social Harmony:
- Foster coexistence with diverse groups and followers of different Islamic sects.
- Serve as judges and prosecutors in both national and international courts.
5. Consultation and Advisory Capabilities:
- Provide jurisprudential and legal consultancy to various governmental and non-governmental departments.
- Transfer scientific and professional experiences to the younger generation in the field of jurisprudence and law.
6. Educational and Public Speaking Skills:
- Teach skills in educational institutions and public forums.
- Preach and promote religious and jurisprudential knowledge in various areas.
