Award and Certificate Distribution Ceremony of the Fall Essay Writing Competition of Salam University Students
Titled: Kabul’s Water Crisis: Today’s Responsibility, Tomorrow’s Survival
The program officially began at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, 20 Aqrab 1404, with the participation of dozens of students and professors of Salam University. It opened with the recitation of verses from the Holy Qur’an by Mahmoodullah Noori, a student of the Faculty of Engineering, followed by welcoming remarks from the program host, Professor Sifatullah Kotwal.
After that, Dr. Misbahullah Abdulbaqi, President of Salam University, delivered a speech in which he congratulated the prize winners and encouraged students to develop their research and writing skills. He emphasized that students must be able to conduct research on various academic fields and societal issues and present comprehensive plans and innovative solutions to decision-makers for the advancement and development of the country.
Next, Nasir Ahmad Nawidi, Vice Chancellor for Research, explained the process of receiving and evaluating the essays and described the outcomes of the competition as satisfactory. He stated that the competition strengthened students’ motivation toward writing and research and established a warm connection between the students and the Salam Research Center.
At the end of the program, cash prizes and certificates for the four winners were distributed by the university president, while certificates for the remaining participants were awarded by the Academic Vice Chancellor, Professor Abu Bakr Mudaqqiq. As a result of the competition—after a general evaluation and two rounds of specialized review—four students were selected as recipients of the cash prizes.
