Brief Introduction to the Department of Jurisprudence & Law

 

The Department of Jurisprudence & Law within the framework of the Faculty of Sharia and Law of Salam University is a hands-on and productive department. This department officially started its activities at the same time with the establishment of Salam University in 2009.  From 2012 to 1218, (726) male and female students graduated from the spring semester of this department. Approximately (55%) of these graduates have been working in various governmental and private sector administrations.  The Department of Jurisprudence & Law has six permanent professors in its academic staff.  

Students of the Department of Jurisprudence & Law study in three shifts. The curriculum and course outlines of this department have been revised three times by the department. Thus, it has the curriculum which is a standard, appropriate and in accordance with the bill of the Ministry of Higher Education. The subjects are classified into four categories (basic, professional, optional and university criteria).   

The current number of male and female students of this department in the fall semester of 2018 reaches (702) ones.

Vision

The Department of Jurisprudence & Law within the framework of the Faculty of Sharia and Law is determined to be a model and pioneering institution of higher education at the national level in the fields of judiciary and attorney, teaching and research, and especially to be a standard and leading institution of higher education in educating academic and purposeful cadres in order to meet the judicial,  educational and training needs of the country On the one hand, and adopts the moderate way in disputed matters on the other hand to direct the society in the right direction.

Admission Requirements

You will need to bring the following while coming for admissions:

1. 4 photos with white background 

2. Color photocopy of your NIC (Tazkira) 

3. Color photocopy of your 12th grade certificate (Bachelor Degree Programs) or Diploma (Master Degree Programs)

4. 5500 AFN (Bachelor Degree Programs) or 600 AFN (Master Degree Programs)

Program Outcome

- Prosecutor: Studying this field enables individuals to work as prosecutor and contribute successfully in that role.

- Defense Lawyer: Properly handling legal and judicial files, advocating for legitimate rights, and pursuing justice is facilitated by the knowledge gained in this department.

- Professor: The department empowers individuals who aspire to become professors in universities and other academic institutions.

- Researcher: The department provides a platform for professional research, recognizing its importance in societal progress and development.

- Legislator: Understanding legislation and its role in regulating affairs can only be achieved through studying in this department.

- Jurist: The department focuses on acquiring knowledge and learning about jurisprudence as a result of Islamic Sharia.

- Pious Manager: The department aims to cultivate individuals with integrity, sincerity, and religious commitment to effectively manage administrative affairs.

- Legal and Legal Advisors: The department prepares individuals to become competent consultants who can provide guidance based on Islamic principles and divine laws.
