Introduction to the Faculty of Political Science & Law
As it is clear that in the last forty years, the war has completely or partially destroyed the majority of the physical and spiritual infrastructures of our beloved country, the Afghans are in a serious need of a large number of experienced and experts of humanities including Political science & Law in order to reconstruct the destroyed infrastructures, generalize education, the rule of law and the achievement of social justice, and to accelerate and commit the judicial and political cycle of their country. In fact, the current higher education institutions do not have the capacity to attract all 12th grade graduates to this field in the current situation nor in the coming years, so the establishment of the Faculty of Political Science & Law in the framework of Salam University is considered a positive step to fill this gap to some extent. Thus, a group of Afghan professionals with the aim of approaching this goal in their war-torn country, dedicated to establish the Political science & Law faculty to create educational and professional facilities for eligible and for those individuals who would like to study in this field so that the Faculty turns into the source of service and facilitates social and economic growth and development for them in the country.
The Faculty of Law and Political Science was one of the three faculties that first started operating within the framework of Salam University in 2011.
1- Educating expert cadres in the fields of judiciary and politics.
2- Launching academic research in the fields of Law and politics.
3- Educating specialized cadres in the field of institutionalizing the rules of human rights at the national and international level.
4- Generating a suitable ground for professors, students, scientists and researchers to exchange ideas, experiences and academic debates.
5- Equipping individuals with the characteristics of leadership of the society in the fields of judiciary, attorney and analysis of international law and political affairs.
6- Taking part in developing the rule of law and political culture in the society.

Ahmad 
Samadi was born in 1374 in Baghlan province to a scholarly family. He attended his father's school called Sangbaran School for primary education and later graduated from Zakur Islam High School in Qala Shahr, Pol-khumri with excellent grades. He pursued his interest in law and political science and received a bachelor's degree from Kunduz University and a master's degree from Nangarhar University. He is currently a doctoral student. He has worked as a professor in more than 5 universities and is currently the dean of the faculty of law and political sciences of Salam University. He has published over 20 academic articles. He is also a professional trainer for the Afghanistan Defense Lawyers Association.
Vision
The Faculty of Law and Political Science of Salam University is determined to be an active academic service provider in the fields of teaching and carrying out academic research in various legal and political fields, and try to nurture academic cadres so that they provide legal and political services, and strive to institutionalize the rule of law and true democracy in the country.
Mission
The Faculty of Law and Political Science is committed to being engaged in serving the society through teaching, doing research and providing educational services, promoting legal and political knowledge, and training innovative and expert cadres who are equipped with the spirit of patriotism and commitment to Islamic and national values.
Strategic plan of Faculty of Law and Political Science:
Setting the strategic plan for the Faculty of Law and Political Sciences is considered a very vital step toward providing quality educational services for the young generation and needs of the country. In fact, it enables the faculty administration to strictly follow the specific path for achieving its objectives, and keep fulfilling its obligations properly, which will lead to social, educational and economic growth and development of the country. This plan specifies the policy of the Faculty of Law and Political Science, and the origin where it can get it from. By implementing this strategic plan, the Faculty of Law and Political Science will be able to provide standard and high-quality educational services which will meet the current needs of the Afghan community.
The main aspects of the strategic plan of the Faculty of Law and Political Science are as below:
1. Goal # 1:
Division of the Faculty of Law and Political Science into two separate faculties, extension of the current departments, establishment of a new department and other academic programs that meet the needs of the society.
2. Goal # 2:
Raising the educational level of graduates of the Faculty of Law and Political Science (to the master's level).
3. Goal # 3:
Bringing positive changes in teaching methodologies, standardization, improving the quality of education, utilizing information technology, developing the curriculum, improving the capacity of professors, raising the abilities of doing scientific research, making relations with society and the academic environment at the level of the Faculty of Law and Political Sciences.
4. Goal # 4:
Besides the process of comprehensive standardization and quality improvement, the Faculty of Law and Political Sciences wants to contribute to the development of the society together with all its departments and employees so it fulfills its responsibility through this way.
5. Goal # 5:
Making relations with law faculties of domestic and foreign universities and other legal, judicial and political departments for the growth of students' academic level and job opportunities.
Judiciary and Prosecution Department
The bachelor's degree program of Law Department is the first law degree course in the system of higher education. The aim of this department is to educate and train experts at national and international level in the field of judiciary based on the Afghan legal system and international legal standards in order to meet the legal needs of society, legal institutions and the judicial and the private sectors.
Vision
The Department of Law of Faculty of Law & Political Science, educates and presents expert academic cadres to the community through teaching and research in the fields of judiciary and prosecution so that they can serve the people in this field properly.
Mission
The Department of Law wants to draw students' attention to the judicial phenomena of the current era and guides them by using the modern and developing methods of teaching and research. In addition, it aims to prepare students to compete in the job market.
General need for this department at the national level
Every society requires discipline, law and apt administration. In fact, these needs are achievable through having competent judges, prosecutors, lawyers and legal advisers of public and private institutions at the national and international levels. Thus, educating the workforce and specialists to achieve high positions by getting quality education in the field of law, are considered a necessity of any society. Therefore, the Department of Law was established as a field of study in the Faculty of Law and Political Science in 2011 with extensive facilities based on the needs of the country.
According to the principles governing society, preserving the highest interests of the country, strengthening national unity, commitment to improve the quality and quantity of academic and applied legal education, application of internationally accepted standards in the academic environment, generalization of responsibility, the following basic values have been noticed:

4- Higher education with quality and standards commensurate with the needs of society and the job market.

Introduction to the Department of Political science
The Department of Political Science is one of the most important departments of the Faculty of Law and Political Science which has been operating since the establishment of the Faculty and has got sufficient teaching facilities, some of which are mentioned below:
Most of the academic cadre members of the Department of Political Science of the Faculty of Law and Political Science hold master’s degrees from domestic and foreign international universities and have sufficient professional experience. The University always makes great efforts to improve the quality, quantity, standardization and systematization of the activities of the Faculty of Law and Political Science in order to introduce it as reliable, standard, honest, authentic and service-oriented educational body at the level of governmental and non-governmental educational institutions of the country by presenting quality and standard teaching activities.

The Department of Political Science of the Faculty of Law & Political Science educates and presents expert academic cadres to the community through teaching and research in the fields of Political Science so that they will have the competence to serve the people in this field properly.
Mission
The Department of Political Science wants to draw students' attention to the political phenomena of the current era and guides them by using the modern and developing methods of teaching and research. In addition, it aims to prepare students to compete in the job market.
Objectives of the Department of Political Science:
1- Promoting the academic level of students and educating expert and committed cadres in the field of political science.
2- Conducting academic and professional research in the fields of political science.
3- Making the young generation Aware of important local, regional and global political events through seminars and conferences.
4- Educating cadres who can take responsibility in political and legislative institutions.
5- Educating specialists who address the political needs of the society and make suggestions to solve them.
6- Presenting the graduates who can be the source of service in promoting the political culture.
This department has sufficient eligible and experienced professors in all its segments, and if the number of new students increases, it will also increase number of professors.
Currently, the total number of professors in this department reaches (42). Four of them are permanent and the remaining (38) are full-time and part-time contract professors.
Furthermore, out of the above-mentioned professors, (29) are masters and (11) others are bachelors.
