    Salam Academic Journal
    Vol. 1 No. 1 (2011)

The decision to establish the Salam Scientific Journal as a biannual research publication was made during a meeting of the High Administration of Salam University in the autumn of 2010 (1389 A.H. Solar). The first issue of Salam was published in the spring of 2011 (1390 A.H. Solar) in 162 pages, printed in standard octavo size. The editor-in-chief of the journal was Associate Professor Shafiqullah Amin, and the managing editor was Professor Dr. Misbahullah Abdulbaqi—both distinguished faculty members of Salam University with high academic credentials.

In addition, eight experts from various academic disciplines, both from within and outside Salam University, served as members of the Editorial Board. The first issue of Salam included an introduction and six scholarly articles written in Pashto, Dari, and Arabic, which received warm appreciation from the Afghan academic community of the time. Beginning with the second issue, articles written in English were also added to the journal’s content.

    Academic Accreditation and Achievements:
From the time of its inception, the journal’s administration pursued official recognition. However, due to the existence of certain rigid and unrealistic regulations, this process faced delays. Eventually, after fulfilling all necessary requirements and regulations, the Salam Scientific Journal obtained its official academic accreditation from the Ministry of Higher Education of Afghanistan on June 8, 2022 (18 Jawza 1401 A.H. Solar). Since then, all published articles have held official academic value and contributed to the scholarly advancement of their authors.

From its establishment to the present, Salam Scientific Journal has published 15 issues compiled in 11 volumes, containing a total of 75 research articles. In addition to its regular articles, the editorial section of Salam holds particular importance, addressing Afghanistan’s strategic and decisive issues. It also provides policy recommendations and scholarly insights to policymakers and decision-making authorities concerning significant national matters.
